I cannot control what the angels give

A heart to love, a mind to live,

The pleasant company we seek each day

Which keeps on appearing?

And which is put in our way.

The friendly chat with someone who cares,

With open minds, and feelings which dares;

To go beyond mind body and soul

To capture your dreams

And make it your goal.

To feel lost and so lonely

When you are not there,

With heart strings pulling

That shows me you care.

As you lift up my life

And make it so real,

With thoughts that you give

Rather than try to steal.

Where I will open my arms

To tell you it’s fine,

To feel lost and confused

When walking a fine line.

When being together we unite as one

Where shadows and doubt

Have finally gone.

Where together we enjoy

This life that we live,

This just goes to show us

What the angels give.

When one is alone and feeling blue,

and being so confused,

you know not what you should do.

God, the Father watches us all everywhere.

Then ask of Our Lord for he’s always there

the sign to your question

and answer of prayer.

When one’s lost the courage to ask it of him,

you should not therefore hasten,

but try to begin.

And ask of our lady,

a woman most pure,

For there is a lady who will answer for sure.

When one is so lost,

and their hearts torn in two,

with minds which are weary,

making feelings untrue?

Then ask of the bible,

and ask through a prayer,

for no matter what asking for

Someone is there.

Born of Mary and Joseph, in a stable in Bethlehem,

you would hold the key to our salvation.

Raised as a carpenter’s son, in a tradition you master,

but a path you would no longer keep. As heaven had a far greater path for you to follow,

From your baptism your life would transform, as you were given back to your father.

A fisher of men is who you will be known

as to spread the word of the kingdom of heaven, and the power of our true god.

With miracles performed in plenty,

as more followers come hither to see.

To hear of your stories, and watch you heal,

as you teach us the laws of our bible and of heaven.

People start to believe in you, in your love and your understanding.

Even though this love would come at a cost from someone close.

You teach us of Peter and the denial before the cock crows thrice,

and the betrayal of Judas for his worldly amount of silver.

Then came that long walk to the cross,

as with your trial you experienced hatred and fear.

From all who did not believe or understand in your teachings;

For your reason for life, and your reason for love.

For those who repented and believed in you,

their burdens you would take as your own.

The final decision of your walk with judgement cast down by Pontius Pilate,

and how the crowd favoured Barabbas instead.

A soldier of the guard made a crown of thorns,

and a crown for the king of the Jews was heard.

And then that long draining walk out of the city gates,

to that lonesome green hill so far away.

Placed on the cross with hands and feet nailed,

as a sword then pierced your side.

The day turned to night, as your life seemed to drain

as your father prepared you for heaven.

And with your last breath you forgive those who have done this,

for the love of man and the love of your flock.

It was your rights of birth,

to be the sole wearer of the crown of thorns,

As this represents our Lord, King of Heaven,

and the thorns reminds us of the pain you suffered to set us free.

candle, candle in glass

candle, candle in glass (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

When you are upset and feeling alone,

And you are so lost you have not a home.

No matter how hard you continue to strife

Remember you still have a candle of life.

A candle that means there is light before dark,

A candle with meaning, like the song of a lark.

A candle that shows happiness, and not sin

A candle that burns brightly, so brightly within.

When you are so weary of the world here about

Of the anguish and terror which seems to burst with a clout.

Of the pain and the suffering which cuts like a knife

Remember you still have a candle of life.

A candle that means hope where there is non

A candle that means, that your life is as one.

A candle that means, love lives in the air

A candle that burns bright here, and everywhere.

Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. The Lourdes app...

Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. The Lourdes apparitions occurred four years after the definition of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Bernadette I believe

the story of your vision,

A story true for me from you,

a story right from heaven.

Bernadette I believe

And I will believe for your protection,

That on the day you strolled away

You saw the Immaculate Conception.

And on that rock from where you prayed

You saw her feet embossed in gold,

Behold from this Our Lady spoke

Of miracles untold.

So many times you did see

a mockery made of you

Of certain folk from your village Lourdes,

The things they said untrue.

Then came the bush that bloomed a rose,

yet baron for many years,

Then came the stream which miraculously healed

Right from Our Lady’s tears.

Although disbelieved you still stood up,

to all those who questioned you,

You stood your ground which was heavenly bound

For what you said was true.

Although you suffered grief and pain

from within your convent home,

With all the lonesome work and strain

You never were alone.

The hours ticked by, then minutes even

Where on your death bed laid,

Then came our lady, with her to heaven

A miracle price you paid.

For be it known that on this day

The little girl who strolled away,

Was kind and dear,

so very quaint.

Dear Bernadette –

You are a saint.

Inspired by the film A Song of Bernadette
